It is possible for a man to be in the way of faith and duty, and in the way of obedience and happiness, and yet meet with great troubles and disappointments, or even trials and temptations. Diversions try to pull us away from walking the path God has chosen for us, and because of that, we must be alert and on our guard at all times.

And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before Him He endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
