God spent a lot of time breaking Jacob. As someone put it, God is an expert at breaking, taming, and training mules. Unfortunately, some of us are stubborn like mules and need to be broken. Jacob needed to be broken before God could truly use him, and it’s the same with many of us. God has to break us and humble us before we are truly usable.

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. —Galatians 6:7-8

The Self-Confrontation Biblical Discipleship Course will be offered again this fall starting on October 3 in the Fellowship Hall from 10:30am to 12:15pm on Saturdays. The class is free of charge. If you have question or wish to register, please contact Jenny at 575-952-9023.

Ladies, join us for a new six-week Women’s Bible Study focused on understanding the purpose and power of prayer. Together, we will learn more about what the Bible teaches about prayer and how we can grow in our own prayer lives. This will be a special time of fellowship, encouragement, and prayer as we grow together in the Lord.

The study will meet Wednesdays from 6:00 to 7:00 PM, October 14 through November 18, in the Fellowship Hall at Calvary Chapel Silver City. All women are welcome. For more information, please see Robin, Pearl, or Michelle.
